‘This Is Not Time For Politics’ – Kindiki Hits At Gachagua As Mt Kenya Political War Surges

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has stated that no one will be allowed to politicize development projects.

Speaking on Monday while inspecting the progress of several development projects in Kiambaa, Kindiki stated that this is not the time for politics.

He went on to say that when the time comes for politics, it will be up to the Kenyan people to choose who will lead them.

“My work is to simply ensure every citizen is safe and secure, all national government activities are being carried out as required. Anything else is secondary.

“Time for politics will come and you the citizens, will have an opportunity to make a decision,” Kindiki said.

He went on to say that the ongoing program of completing all stalled projects, particularly roads, will continue unabated.

The CS stated that the government will ensure that all ongoing projects are completed on time.

“That way, it will be so easy for President William Ruto to come back to you in 2027.”

He stated that those contracted to build the roads will not leave the sites until the projects are completed and that they have been asked to involve locals in the projects.

“We have also asked the contractors to ensure that locals are engaged in the construction to help them earn a livelihood and impact positively on the local economies. We have officers in every corner of this country,” Kindiki stated.

“They must keep a keen eye on the contractors, and should you as citizens notice any monkey business, do not hesitate to inform our administrators so that they take the necessary corrective measures.”

The Interior CS reiterated the government’s stance on corruption, stating that it will not be tolerated even when contractors award jobs to locals.

Kindiki added that as these projects are completed, local leaders and National Government Administration Officers must ensure that they are cost-effective.

“Government will not entertain any corruption in the awarding of job opportunities…,” he added.

“Local leaders and national government administration officers should also ensure that there is value for money for the investment that the government is making in all these development programs.”
