CS Kindiki Snubs Gachagua Talks Urges Unity, Completion Of Stalled Roads
Instead, he emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering national unity and progressing with stalled development projects nationwide.
CS Kindiki, along with Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir and other government officials, oversaw the restart of the 40.5 km Engineer-Mbiginano-Gathara-Tulaga-Mbirithi-Chuma Road Project in Kinangop, Nyandarua County.
The road project stalled under the previous administration due to financial constraints, is now fully funded.
It is part of the government’s larger initiative to complete stalled infrastructure projects and launch new ones critical to economic growth.
Speaking at the event, Kindiki urged Kenyans to remain united despite ethnic, religious, or social differences and emphasized the importance of service to the country.
“We must work together without considering tribe, religion, social class, or rank. Let us serve the people with dedication and uphold the unity of our nation,” he said.
He underscored the need for continued national cohesion, stating, “As we continue in unity, we will have one Kenya without divisions. We are one people, one flag, one nation.”
Kindiki also instructed contractors working on government projects to prioritize hiring unskilled and semi-skilled labor from local communities, ensuring that development benefits people at the grassroots level.
“Contractors must ensure that local jobs requiring unskilled and semi-skilled workers are reserved for residents,” Kindiki noted.
CS Kindiki also instructed county commissioners across the country to ensure that all government projects are completed on time.
Kindiki emphasized the importance of efficient execution in providing citizens with value for their tax dollars.
“County Commissioners must ensure that all development projects in their areas are completed within the stipulated time so that our people get value for their money,” he added.
