According to Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi, Kenya’s development trajectory has been boosted by the inclusion of the opposition in the government.

Wandayi stated that the country will progress if all leaders support a broad-based government.

“For any country to attain meaningful development, unity, peace, and stability are critical and that is what guided President William Ruto’s decision to form an inclusive government,” he said.

He stated that the Western and Luo Nyanza regions would continue collaborating under the unity government for prosperity.

He spoke at the Lunakwe grounds during the Bumula Energy Centre and Transformer Maximisation projects’ groundbreaking ceremony in Bungoma County.

The Sh 260 million center will be established in the country.

Dr. Rose Mkalama, CEO of the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (Rerec), Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka, host MP Jack Wamboka, and his Likuyani counterpart Innocent Mugabe attended the event.

Wandayi is one of four ODM CSs appointed to join the expanded government to stabilize the country following Gen Z protests.

Others include former Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya (Cooperatives and SMEs), John Mbadi (Treasure and Economic Planning), and Hassan Joho (Mining and Blue Economy).
