Oscar Sudi Slams Gachagua After Warning Rift Valley MPs Against Impeaching Him
Speaking to Kalenjin journalists on Monday, September 30, Gachagua expressed his disappointment, accusing many Kenya Kwanza MPs from the Rift Valley of leading the push for his impeachment.
He further challenged the MPs to move forward with their ouster plans, asserting that lawmakers from Mt Kenya are ready to support him.
“If anyone thinks they can intimidate me into resigning, they should forget it. The people of Mt Kenya are just waiting to see me removed,” Gachagua stated.
In response, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi reminded Gachagua that he has only a few days left in office. Sudi cautioned Gachagua to promote unity in Mt Kenya, suggesting that his motives were self-serving.
“After all is said and done, there are just seven days to go. There’s no greater cause than a united Kenya. Stop the tribalism and don’t try to isolate the Agikuyu from the rest of Kenyans for your interests,” he said.
Some Kenyans have reacted to this timeline, with some wanting the entire government to be held accountable.
Simon Karani reacted: “We are not complaining. We are not being isolated. Gachagua is just a voice that we didn’t have after silencing Uhuru.”
Gerald Kipkoech said: “Please Sudi, we want peace in Kenya.
Now you want to cause violence of deceitfulness and hatred because you’ve been corrupt all along and got by Kenyans.
Gachagua’s impeachment is just a cover story for all the illnesses you got in government. Mr Ruto will be impeached by the people power. Let the will of God be done.
Hon Alfred Rotich commented: “Why exclude Ruto? He is the major problem of this country.
Hata here Gachagua, Ruto has been selling almost everything in our country to foreigners.”
Albert Kibet Bitok observed: “If DP must go home then the whole government should be dissolved and we start fresh.
The motion to oust Gachagua will be moved by the National Assembly Deputy Majority Leader Owen Baya on Tuesday afternoon, October 1.
Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse will second the motion, after which Speaker Moses Wetang’ula will issue directions on when the debate on the motion will proceed.
The 40-page motion was forwarded to the clerk’s office on Monday, September 30.
