Kindiki Outlines State’s 5 Focus Areas For 2025
The DP said the government will focus on critical areas in implementing the government’s bottom-up transformation agenda 2022-2027 as its priorities for 2025.
“The last weekend of the festive season offers the opportunity to get set for a critical year in the implementation of The Plan, 2022-2027,” Kindiki said in a statement on his X account.
The president’s principal assistant noted that as Kenyans conclude the long festivities and embark on nation-building, they should be informed of the government’s agenda for 2025.
The five areas that the government will focus on include sustaining the prevailing macroeconomic stability, and empowerment of citizens through the creation of jobs and income opportunities.
President William Ruto’s government will also focus on the enhancement of household incomes, transformation of critical value chains, and completion of strategic infrastructure projects.
“While progress in the delivery of these priorities provides the hardware for taking Kenya forward, we must simultaneously confront the software threats that have slowed down the pace of our progress,” Kindiki said.
According to the DP, the government will continue to work on issues that have slowed down the country’s takeoff since the founding of the nation.
The issues, the DP said, include division, prideful bigotry, hate, chauvinism, negativity, corruption, greed, and the spectacular relegation of family values.
The DP spoke at a time when the Kenya Kwanza government has come under immense pressure for failing to fight corruption within its ranks.
However, President Ruto has come to strongly defend his performance saying he will spare no stone unturned in his fight against graft.
Ruto has put top government officials on notice saying those found corrupt or abetting graft will be fired as part of the radical measures to take graft.
With the 2027 political alignments expected to hit fever-pitch in the coming months, there are concerns that government delivery could be hampered by early campaigns.
