Ruto’s Gov’t Delivery Services Head Has Resigned
Dr. Peter Mbae, the Head of Government Delivery Services, has resigned, citing unresolved issues made with Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei.
Mbae resigned from his senior post just a year after being appointed, citing poor working circumstances in his office, in a letter to Koskei dated January 9.
“Despite my passion, focus and consistency, for reasons and issues that I have consistently brought to your attention and have not been resolved to date, it has not been possible to carry out my duties as intended and my position as Head of Government Delivery Services is no longer tenable,” the letter read in part.
“In order to be accountable to the people of Kenya, owing to the fact that the appointment was widely circulated, I therefore request to formally disengage from this appointment so as to pursue other interests,” Mbae added.
Mbae has confirmed his exit, stating that he would now pursue other interests.

“I was a professional in my own right before joining government so I will go back to what I was doing before,” he said.
Mbae, a dispute resolution practitioner, has previously demonstrated diligence and work ethic in government capacities.
Prior to his GDS assignment, Mbae worked in the Cabinet Secretary’s office in the Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management as the Head of Ministerial Programmes.
Previously, he served as Secretary of Investments Promotion in the Office of Cabinet Secretary at the Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry (MITI) beginning in January 2023.
Mbae also served as Head of the Ministerial Delivery Unit.
“In all these positions, I served diligently with utmost commitment and sacrifice, driven solely by the genuine desire to achieve sustainable transformation in the lives of citizens in line with the Kenya Kwanza Government manifesto,” Mbae outlined.
The Government Delivery Services (GDS) is a government function headquartered in the State Department of Performance and Delivery Management.
Its principal duty is to better the coordination of national government flagship initiatives, as well as to monitor, assess, and report on the timely implementation of significant development goals, programmes, and projects.
Other responsibilities include monitoring and reporting on the progress of national government initiatives, projects, programs, and presidential directives.
The GDS also performs problem solving and delivers practical interventions on government priorities, projects, and programs that are facing issues or bottlenecks.
Aside from that, the GDS conducts independent verification to ascertain the genuine state of government projects conducted in regions and counties.

Muturi, while being in government, was an impacted party when his son was kidnapped and ultimately released.
