UEFA Champions League Winners Since 1955.

The top pan-European club competition, the UEFA Champions League is played every year between the top football teams in Europe.

As of June 10, 2023, Manchester City is the reigning champion after defeating Inter Milan 1-0 to win the title.

The Champions League winners list is a distinguished compilation of the top teams in Europe from the competition’s inception in 1955–1956, until the present.

Before it was renamed the UEFA Champions League in 1992 to reflect the change from a straight knockout competition to a group stage in a mini-league format preceding the knockout stages, the tournament was known as the European Cup or European Champions Cup (officially the European Champion Clubs’ Cup).

Currently, 32 clubs are split into eight groups for the UEFA Champions League main draw, where they play in a double round-robin group stage.

The top two teams from each group proceed to the knockout phase, which is divided into two legs, with the exception of the final.

The whole list of Champions League winners is as follows: Real Madrid leads the league in wins (14), closely followed by AC Milan (7), Liverpool and Bayern Munich (6 apiece), and Barcelona (5).

Over the years, there have been 23 different UCL winners. The defending champions Manchester City made history by being the sixth English team to win the UCL 2022–23 championship.
